We drove the Peugeot 107 Urban 1.0-litre Petrol 3 door.

The 107 is really a city orientated car and at only 3430mm long it is quite a compact car. You have a choice of either a 3 or a 5 door hatchback, there is a £350 premium for the extra 2 doors.

Peugeot believes that the 107 will appeal to a younger audience between the ages of 18 and 24, with 68% being women drivers. This is a difficult market to crack as it is all about credability, fortunately Peugeot have found favour with the younger generation. Personally I find it hard to believe that many young men will aspire to the Peugeot 107 but I guess time will tell.

The 107 was designed on a new platform in co-operation with PSA Peugeot, Citroen and the Toyota Motor Corporation. Essentially it is the same as the Citroen C1 and Toyota Aygo, all built at the same plant in the Czech Republic.

The Peugeot 107 was launched in the UK in June 2005 replacing the outgoing 106 model, of which 398,000 were sold in the period 1991 to 2003.
